Bodysaw - advanced ab training #1

A fantastic exercise popularised by the team at TRX - this deceptively simple drill is going to get you strong abs in no time. If you don't own a TRX, use any suspension training system, Powerwheel or Slideboard. If you don’t have any of the equipment you can even use paper plates...just don’t use them for eating afterwards...

Attach yourself to your choice of equipment. Adopt the elbows down plank position, inhale and lock your body in preparation to Bodysaw. Slide your body back, pivoting from the elbows. Only go as far as is “comfortable” - stop before your hips start to sag or your lower back loses its neutral state.

Progressing the Bodysaw.
Here I’ll describe three ways of making the Bodysaw harder. Don’t all thank me at once.

Bodysaw with extended arms. Same exercise but start with arms extended like a press up.
Bodysaw with Pike. Same exercise but include a Pike Pull at the end.
Unilateral Bodysaw. Lift one leg and Bodysaw. Repeat with the other leg lifted.
